Giving Back: A Family Tradition

Last December in 2014, our members began a new holiday initiative to celebrate the spirit of giving back. Each of our members made a charitable $2,500 gift to the organization and cause of their choice. From empowering women and girls globally to fighting childhood obesity and ending homelessness, our members sought out causes that rang true to their hearts and aligned with their personal passions.

The numbers are now in, and we are impressed! All together, Tarsadia Foundation members donated $102,500 individually to 42 local and international organizations.

When asked why they decided to give to their particular organization, members responded with thoughtful and inspiring personal missions:

“I chose [People’s Emergency Center] because I have been noticing a lot of homeless people on the streets and want a find a way to help especially as it is getting so unbearably cold outside. I can’t imagine having to sleep through the night in freezing temperatures.” – Angeli, People’s Emergency Center

“Free high quality public education will change the world one child at a time!” – Chitavan, Endeavor Charter School

“It gives disabled people a chance to get together through sports to build health and wellness.” – Mukti, Bay Area Outreach Program

“Providing a hot meal to people is heart warming and essential to living.” – Priya, Someone Cares Kitchen

“Their strong efforts have gone a long way in it’s short duration. This fund will positively help support the children in need in the Eldoret community.” – Sejal, Tumaini Project

“Giving the gift of sight is truly wonderful and can change a life.” – Sanjay, Sankara Eye Foundation

“The struggling teens in our community will be leading the next generation and this fund can help support their efforts to succeed.” – Virendra, Laurel House
